Two setters test every problem before it gets a tag

Two scales,
explained simply.

Grades are a setter’s best guess, not a law of physics. Use them as a starting point and trust how the climb feels.

Bouldering grades start at V0, your first day, and climb to V17, which only a handful of people on Earth have done. Most Crux climbers spend their first months between V0 and V3.

Rope routes use the Yosemite Decimal System. The 5 means technical climbing; the number after the dot is difficulty. From 5.10, letters a to d split each grade into four steps.

What gets reset,
and when.

Walls rotate on a five-week cycle, so every area is fresh at least once a month.
